Jerry Carr's Skylab III Flown Astronaut Preference Kit
This Teflon-coated Beta cloth pouch was used by Skylab III (SL-4) commander Gerald "Jerry" Carr to carry Robbins medallions to space and back for later presentation to his family. This bag was in space for a record-setting 84 days and 1 hour, from November 16, 1973 to February 8, 1974.
Labeled as an "Astronaut Preference Kit" or APK, each of the Skylab astronauts were permitted to fly up to 5 pounds of personal mementos.
Carr's APK "Bag" was listed as part no. SEC12100087-301 and serial number 1088. It was manufactured in April 1973.
It is accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Carr.
