Section One: Astronaut Experiences Attend a Space Shuttle Launch Attempt with STS-1 Pilot Bob Crippen
How do you improve on the excitement of a space shuttle countdown? You add an astronaut as your personal expert launch commentator!
The winner of this lot and his/her guest will join STS-1 pilot Bob Crippen at Kennedy Space Center in Florida to watch as NASA counts down to a space shuttle launch! Crippen, as a four-time shuttle veteran, will share his own memories of lifting-off the launch pad and flying into orbit as the next crew prepares to follow in his footsteps.
You, your guest and Capt. Crippen will witness the launch attempt from a NASA-controlled location. Transportation to the viewing area will be provided from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
Accommodations and transportation to and from Florida and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is not included. The actual date of the event will be determined by Capt. Crippen's schedule, as well as NASA's launch schedule. This lot does not guarantee viewing a shuttle launch and includes only one launch attempt. ASF reserves the right to disqualify the high bidder, to reject the high bid, and to accept a bid from a lower bidder, for any reason within their discretion, which shall be exercised in good faith. The winning bidder of this event may be required to submit proof of identity and be subject to a background check.
