Sixteen (16) RCS thrusters were mounted on Gemini's nose section to control attitude during reentry.
This SE-6 thruster was manufactured by Rocketdyne for use as part of the Gemini two-man spacecraft's re-entry control system. The Gemini RCS consumed a hypergolic propellant mixture of nitrogen tetroxide and monomethyl hydrazine to produce 23.5 pounds of thrust. Each thruster was rated for a total life span of 96 seconds. This specific thruster was not flown.
