The blue flight suit came into use after the Mercury astronauts were shown wearing all different colors.
This Nomex blue flight suit was worn by shuttle astronaut Story Musgrave (STS-6, STS-51F, STS-33, STS-44, STS- 61, STS-80) while he trained and flew in T-38 jets. He may have also been used this suit for public appearances. His patches and name tag were removed prior to this suit being disposed of by NASA. The suit is identified by Musgrave's name, which was written on tag sewn inside.
