This section of orbital maneuvering (OMS) and reaction control (RCS) systems pod skin was cut from Columbia after its maiden flight. The pods' skin panels were made from a graphite epoxy honeycomb sandwich. This piece was the property of McDonnell Douglas Aeronautics' St. Louis Div. Program Manager for the Orbital Maneuvering System.
