Falcon 9 landing: Space Center Houston is adding a twice-flown SpaceX Falcon 9 stage to its exhibits. The visitor center for NASA's Johnson Space Center will display the rocket segment beginning this summer. The Falcon 9 first stage was the first to fly on two cargo resupply flights to the International Space Station for NASA in 2017.

Postcards from space: In the near future, a Blue Origin New Shepard rocket will lift off to space with 10,000 student-sent postcards on board. The rocket mail launch (and return) is the first activity of the Club for the Future, a new type of space club aimed at "inspiring young people to build the future of life in space." The cards will be sent back to the students stamped as having been flown in space.

Artemis: The next time American astronauts land on the moon, it will be under a program named for the twin sister of Apollo. NASA on Monday (May 13) announced Artemis as the new name for its efforts to return men — and send the first women — to the lunar surface in 2024. NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine called the naming a beautiful moment in U.S. history, coming 50 years after Apollo.

Marshmallow Moon landing: Just in time to celebrate Apollo 11 in July, Oreo is releasing a new flavor to mark the moon landing's 50th anniversary. The purple creme Marshmallow Moon cookies feature three embossed lunar landing-themed designs. The Oreos come with stickers and will arrive on store shelves in a glow-in-the-dark package.

Apollo 11 statue: Rocket Mortgage is gifting a new bronze statue of the Apollo 11 crew to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The 7 foot tall monument to Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins will stand outside the Apollo/Saturn V Center at the Florida spaceport in time for the 50th anniversary of their moon landing mission.

'Apollo at the Park': Baseball fans will get a chance to pose for selfies with astronaut Neil Armstrong's Apollo 11 spacesuit this summer thanks to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. 'Apollo at the Park' will see full-size statues of the iconic moon suit at 15 Major League Baseball clubs across the U.S. in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Armstrong's historic moon landing mission.

Apollo 50th trading cards: Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is celebrating Apollo history with collectible trading cards. Guests at the Florida complex on Saturday (May 18) can pick up the latest set commemorating 50 years since the launch of Apollo 10, the dress rehearsal for the first moon landing. The five-card set joins earlier issues that were distributed for past Apollo 50th anniversaries.

Iconic hours: Omega's new Speedmaster is a tribute to the "iconic hours" that defined the first moon landing. The Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary chronograph has a steel body with gold accents, including engravings of Buzz Aldrin exiting the lunar module and the numeral '11' at the 11th hour marker. The Speedmaster, limited to 6,969 pieces, also includes a lunar module stand and patches.

ISS up for LEGO vote: LEGO fans can now vote for the International Space Station to be made into a toy brick set. Twice set aside by LEGO's review team, Christoph Ruge's idea for a space station model has been selected with three other previously-rejected projects to vie for votes to become an official LEGO product. The fan poll closes on June 4. The set with the most votes will be sold in 2020.

Explorers Club flag: Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark are donating to The Explorers Club a flag that their late father carried to the surface of the moon 50 years ago. Flown on the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, The Explorers Club flag is one of (at least) two that accompanied the first lunar landing. The Club plans to display the flag in its newly dedicated "Apollo Room" at its New York headquarters.

'Armstrong': A new documentary chronicles the life of the first moonwalker using his own words and home movies. "Armstrong," to be released in theaters by Gravitas Ventures on July 12, features interviews with the late Neil Armstrong's family and fellow Apollo astronauts, in addition to Harrison Ford, who gives voice to Armstrong's remarks.

Moon machete: Fifty years ago, a Case M-1 machete flew to the moon and back with the first astronauts to reach the lunar surface. A replica of the same knife, made by the same company, is now available as an anniversary commemorative. Case is offering the Astronaut M-1 in both open and limited editions, the latter inside a shadow box.
