The space shuttle Discovery and International Space Station (ISS) crews will divide and conquer today, as the astronauts and cosmonauts work on several different projects on orbit.

The STS-133 crew started their day at 2:24 a.m., with the wakeup song "Ohio (Come Back to Texas)" by Bowling for Soup, which was played for the whole crew.

"That song comes to you from your families," capcom Mike Massimino from Mission Control in Houston told the astronauts. "They do want you back here in Texas. We are looking forward to seeing you back on planet Earth when your mission is complete."

"Thanks to our families," replied Discovery's commander Steve Lindsey. "[They] have really, really supported us from the beginning of our being assigned all the way through this mission. We really appreciate them and we really look forward to seeing them again."

Flight Day 10 is the second of two days added to the mission to allow the extra helping hands brought up by space shuttle Discovery more time to assist the International Space Station crew with maintenance work and getting the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) Leonardo unpacked and ready for life on orbit.

Lindsey, pilot Eric Boe, and mission specialists Stephen Bowen, Nicole Stott and Alvin Drew will be working inside the PMM again with station flight engineer Cady Coleman. Today, they will be unpacking the module, removing launch hardware and moving some of the packing materials into the Japanese Kounotori2 H-II Transfer Vehicle for disposal when the cargo vehicle undocks later this month.

Elsewhere in the station, mission specialist Mike Barratt and Expedition 26 flight engineer Paolo Nespoli will be working on the Carbon Dioxide Removal Assembly (CDRA) in the Destiny lab, bypassing a failed heater circuit. And space station commander Scott Kelly will be installing a new filter on the station’s Oxygen Generation Assembly (OGA).
